Now it is clear that cheap gasoline at the pumps does not equate to a vibrant economy nor does expensive gaosline equate to a desolate economy. Besides in Venezuela the economic controls are so strict you have to show ID and provide your address for all purchases even an ice cream cone, and may not be able to take money out at the ATM in a major international airport because the ATM hasn't got any money.
